These terms describe the use of CarCrew to privately organise a shared car. They do not replace arrangements about ownership, borrowing, insurance or costs within a group. Binding incorporation requires valid agreement before a contract is concluded; a footer link alone does not replace such an agreement.
Accounts and groups
Provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential and do not share your personal account. Only share group codes and joining passwords with intended members. Group admins manage memberships. Each person is responsible for the content they enter. Unlawful content, unauthorised access and disruption of the service are prohibited.
Vehicle use and responsibility
The group decides who may use the vehicle and under which conditions, and how insurance, damage, keys, parking and costs are handled. You are responsible for checking driving eligibility and adequate insurance. An available time displayed in the app does not guarantee that the vehicle is physically available or roadworthy.
Entries and calculations
Check bookings, odometer readings, refuellings and costs for accuracy. Fuel level and consumption may be estimates. The fuel account calculates litres consumed using the consumption rate stored for each trip and accounts for litres paid for. Shared costs are allocated according to the recorded arrangement. All current group members may correct completed trips; changes are recorded. Existing cost allocations are not retrospectively changed by trip corrections. Groups resolve discrepancies themselves.
Currently free to use
CarCrew is currently free to use. This does not create an entitlement to permanent free access. Any future paid service requires a separate prior agreement. Registration alone does not automatically create an obligation to pay future fees.
Availability and calendars
Maintenance, technical problems and changes may temporarily limit use. Export important records yourself as needed. External calendars may show changes with a delay. Edit bookings in CarCrew. Treat a calendar link like an access key and revoke it if shared unintentionally.
Liability
Liability is governed by applicable law. To the extent legally permitted, liability for minor negligence and indirect damages is limited. Liability for intent or gross negligence, personal injury and other cases that cannot legally be excluded is not excluded. CarCrew does not assume the liability of vehicle owners or drivers or the insurance obligations of a group.
Ending use and content
You can delete your account in your profile using your current password or contact the operator. Login and profile details are removed. Shared trips, expense records and messages remain under a stable identifier in groups with other members; stored text and receipts may still contain personal information. Groups with no other members are deleted along with their data. Shared accounting data and logs are handled under the privacy notice and applicable law. The operator may restrict access after appropriate review of serious violations. Only upload images and content you are entitled to use; the operator receives only the usage rights needed to operate the service.
Changes to the terms
Material changes are announced appropriately before they apply. Existing agreements are not changed retrospectively simply by replacing this text. Any required consent is obtained separately.
Applicable law
Where validly agreed, Swiss law applies. Mandatory legal protections and mandatory places of jurisdiction remain unaffected. For questions, contact the operator first using the email address above.
